Our food does mainly consist of macros and micros. Macronutrients (macros) can be divided into three parts: Carbohydrates, fat and proteins.
After consumption of Carbohydrates (like potatoes, noodles) the carbs are getting broken down into glucose – a form of sugar which is our body’s first energy source in the strains of daily life and when it comes to endurance sports. The second use of energy level is fat. We all know what fat is, which can be ‘burned’ too through endurance sport. The body needs fat, but not too much! Proteins – as a thrird level of energy – are vital for our body structure (muscles, cells…). That’s why bodybuilders eat a lot of proteins!
